Sand & Silence
13.-19.02.2027A nomadic Yoga Retreat in the Sahara
Morocco, Sahara
We walk, we breath
We move with the rythm of the desert
The journey begins in Marrakech, where you are invited to spend the first evening in the aliveness of the city. Wander through the medina as it fills with colour, sound, and life, and share dinner in one of its local restaurants.Early the next morning, we leave Marrakech and head toward M’Hamid El Ghizlane. The road unfolds through Morocco’s changing landscapes, crossing the Atlas and Anti-Atlas mountains with time for a shared lunch along the way.The landscape shifts from city to open space. The pace softens. The world becomes quieter as we move toward the desert. In the desert, the rhythm becomes minimal and clear. Each day includes 2 to 3,5 hours of walking at an accessible, unhurried pace. Movement, stillness, and breath become the structure of the day. Camels are also available for those who prefer a gentler pace or wish to experience parts of the journey in a different way (available on request). In the simplicity of the desert, attention naturally begins to settle. Walking becomes a way of sensing. Stillness becomes a way of observing. Breath and movement become a way of self-inquiry and exploration.Alongside our daily yoga practice, we'll spend evenings singing around the bonfire, explore the art of Thai Yoga Massage and enjoy plenty of time beneath a sky full of beautiful stars. This journey moves from richness into reduction: from the colour and density of Marrakech, through vast mountain landscapes, and into the open minimalism of the desert. A gradual stripping back toward simplicity, silence, and space.Sand & Silence is an invitation into slowness, presence, and a different relationship with time, attention, and experience.

Your Host
Janina’s yoga journey began in 2019, when she traveled to India for her first teacher training. For the first time in her life, she felt a deep resonance within — a full-body “yes” to yoga, its philosophy, and its way of life. From that moment on, she established a daily practice that continues to guide her, helping her navigate life with greater awareness, presence, and compassion. Her yoga mat became a space to truly feel and to explore her inner world. No matter where she is in the world, her yoga mat is always by her side — an anchor and a sense of home. Sharing this practice, something that has touched her heart so deeply, is one of her greatest joys. She has completed more than 1,000 hours of training across different styles of yoga, philosophy, breathwork, and Thai Yoga Massage. She loves to integrate the sound of mantras into her classes, accompanied by the gentle melodies of her guitar, creating a space that invites both deep stillness and flowing sequences that awaken strength and build inner power. When she is not practicing or teaching, you will most likely find her in the mountains, chasing sunrises from the peaks and immersing herself in the quiet beauty of nature, or expressing herself through movement and dance.
